Registration will close Sunday!
This is is! If you haven’t already registered for the 2015 West Coast Ukulele Retreat and don’t want to miss the “most fun you can have with your ‘ukulele on”, please register right away. We will be closing registration on Sunday and want to make sure you have time to get your registration in to us and also to register for housing with Asilomar while it is still available. (FYI: there is a chance we will re-open registration briefly in April, but no guarantee Asilomar will still have rooms available for Full-time Participants.)
Also, we have just added the very dynamic and totally fun Lorenzo Vignando (aka Ukulollo) to the list of instructors. He will be with us just one day, but how much fun he will bring is anyone’s guess! He’ll be teaching a 2-part workshop we’re calling the Italian “Hawaii Blues” and leading one of his famous techno-play-alongs during one of our evening events. Here’s a little video he recently put together, just to give you an idea of the breadth of his talent.
If you’re still on the fence, you might want to read more about the incredible line-up of instructors coming this year and the great workshops we have planned so far.
But don’t take our word for it! Here’s what a few of last year’s participants had to say:
“The West Coast Ukulele Retreat is like a fine wine – it gets better every year. . . . .a monumental four days of uke playing and learning and seeing old friends and making new ones. The variety of instructors advances us to the next level of learning about the uke. You don’t need to be an advanced player to participate. There is plenty to choose from. The teaching teams are accessible ALL the time, very knowledgeable, and experienced in answering. I can’t wait to go back!!!”

“I LOVED LOVED LOVED the retreat. . . . .even better than last year, and that is saying a lot. I was awed by the sheer volume of talent, both instructors and attendees. The four-hour finale was the best “concert” I have ever attended, for variety of style, talent, and sheer fun, and I couldn’t believe I was still awake and engaged at midnight.”
–Carla
“The retreat at Asilomar was exhilarating. The instructors were excellent, both in teaching and performing, and accessible all the time; those of us who have attended the last four years have really improved.”
–Nancy
“Thank you! The classes took me over the edge of my comfort zone into a more potentially creative space. It was a challenging, fun, and happy time with great, caring instructors! The accommodations and classes around the Kiln core were great. They created a “community of ukers.”

“This was more fun than I can say. I’m going home with more information than I imagined, and more inspiration than I know what to do with. Thank-you to all who organized this–your work is deeply appreciated!”

“Third time and it keeps getting better and better!”
Maryann
“It’s a giant, multi-dimensional effort. . . . .a lot of people have a magical few days. I will definitely be back!”
Anon
“The music and learning is terrific. But the camaraderie, warmth, and sense of community of the retreat makes my heart sing!”
Anon
“Another great experience. Even more serious learning than in past years.”
Third year attendee
“I plan to go next year. Need I say more?”
Anon
“There is something for everyone here. From beginners to advanced players. The professionalism of the staff and their availability is remarkable. Small classes, teachers who mingle and have office hours and jam with us make the event fabulous. Much to learn on these four strings. Thanks for accelerating my learning!”

Third year attendee
“The best, happiest way to get better at playing ukulele. Talented, friendly, and very supportive teachers. Beautiful venue. Most of all, music and fun. Thank you!”

“Three days packed with fun and information is a great amount of time to get an idea or skill understood. . . . .Came away FULL of ukulele, food, friends, and FUN.”
Anon
“It was so well organized and such a welcoming group. I learned a lot and had a wonderful time doing it! In addition to learning, the retreat completely transported me to another place where I forgot all my daily worries.“
