Guess who’s coming to tea at the West Coast ‘Ukulele Retreat?
Indeed! It is one of the most beloved ukulele instructors in the U.K., Phil Doleman, who will be joining us, thanks to the ongoing support of our wonderful friends at Ohana Ukuleles.
Amazingly, many folks on this side of the pond have not heard of him. What a shame. He is such an incredible instructor, a fun and engaging performer, and all around great guy to have around.
And he’s fluent in English! Sort of……..
If he tells you he wants to get “plastered,” he’s not looking for a drink! He’s looking for a band-aid.
And if says he needs a “rubber,” it’s not what you may be thinking! What he’s asking for is an eraser!
Even so, Phil has plenty to offer us Yanks in a new and engaging manner. But don’t take my word for it. Here’s a little 4-minute Phil-nugget geared towards beginning and intermediate players that will give you a much better idea of his style and approach than I ever could.
